Exploring Hinagdanan Cave

The whole island province of Bohol is also dubbed as "Cave Country", as it has more than 1,000 counted caves at present, and some may even remain unexplored! The most popular among them is the Hinagdanan Cave. Situated in the town of Dauis, 6 kilometers from Tagbilaran City, Hinagdanan Cave is famous for its naturally lit cavern and deep underground lagoon. The cave is top lit by sunlight which filters through holes in the ceiling. The underground lake is a popular swimming spot with the clean, fresh water gushing from it's rocky sides.

Hinagdanan means "laddered" in local dialect.
